Baseline Assessments

In October 2005, HMIC published reports for all 43 Police forces in England and Wales.  These reports, known as Baseline Assessments, offered an overview, for each force, of its strengths and weaknesses compared with its peers.

The Policing Green Paper "From the neighbourhood to the national: policing our communities together"  and the government’s response announced the move to a new performance framework for the police.
